So sorry for the warmth of the church last weekend. The one storm on Saturday afternoon apparently knocked out a circuit breaker in the chiller and therefore no air.

I wanted to let everyone know that I received an official copy of a letter from Bishop Rhoades this past Wednesday appointing Reverend Dermot Gahan to Parochial Vicar of the Cathedral of Saint Matthew. Effective date September 1, 2019. The letter stated he will be with us for one year.

To those who have belonged to the Cathedral for many years you will remember and some know Father Dermot well. He was here for several years as a resident. Now he will be a Parochial Vicar, better known to us here in the midwest as an Associate Pastor. Father has for many years come on his vacation to reside here during the month of October. He has many friends in this area and around the Warsaw area. Father is always a favorite with the children with his strong Irish brogue and his hearty laugh.

The parish thanks the Bishop for assigning him here as there are so many areas he could have placed him. We welcome Father and look forward to his return to Saint Matthews.

I know it is summer and a great number of people are on vacation. Consequently finding servers, lectors and Eucharistic Ministers is difficult. Thanks to so many who step up and come forward to offer your services.

We will continue to have a Holy Hour with Eucharistic Adoration every Wednesday evening with the opprtunity for the Sacrament of Confession. Many folks have taken advantage of this opportunity. We begin directly after the 5:30 Mass and end at 7 PM Come and spend some quiet time with the Lord.

Keep cool and enjoy the summer months.
