Friday, October 2, 2020 was the official retirement day for our much-loved Librarian, Mrs. Jo Ann Palmer. In addition to her 26 years as the full-time Librarian for the Cathedral School of Saint Matthew, Mrs. Palmer was the school’s grant writer and Title Program specialist.

Throughout her many years in her varied positions here at the Cathedral School, Jo Ann Palmer raised well over $1.2 million for programs and projects that benefited (and continue to benefit) our school community. Although Jo Ann had intended to retire in June, she remained at our side as we received funding from the CARES and GEER grants during the pandemic. In honor of her many years of service to our school, Sister Gianna Marie announced that the library will be dedicated as the “Palmer Library”.

After nearly three decades of serving in various capacities at the Cathedral School of Saint Matthew, Mrs. Palmer will finally be able to pursue her primary passion in life – being a grandmother! In addition to spending more time with her family, Jo Ann hopes to enjoy some time traveling and – of course – spending some quality time reading all the books that she has been saving up for the past several years.

Thank you, Mrs. Palmer, for all of your years of service to our students, faculty, and school community!
