Welcome to our school, Matthew! florianMiddle School Language Arts teacher Matthew Florian with his son, Oscar, and wife, Melissa, on Easter Sunday The last time Catherine remembers being in St. Matt’s gym, she was playing in a middle school Volleyball game alongside her twin sister, Hannah, playing against the Blazers. Born and raised in South Bend, she attended St. Joseph Grade School in South Bend (where she converted to Catholicism), and later graduated from St. Joseph High School. She returned to her high school alma mater to teach in the classrooms she once sat in, built on the grounds of the old hospital that she was born in. After teaching English to ninth and twelfth graders for two years, God called Catherine to teach religion to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders at the Cathedral School of Saint Matthew. She couldn’t be more excited to share her faith with the students and help them grow in their relationship with God. We are happy to welcome Catherine to our school community, this time teaching for the Blazers! horvathMiddle School Religion teacher Catherine Horvath with her mother, sister, and father at her sister’s graduation from Indiana University
