A few weeks ago several people approached me concerning the 4:30 Mass on Saturday evening.
They explained that it was difficult for them to attend as it is dark when Mass is over and difficult to drive especially in snow or rain. Would I ever consider changing the time making it a half hour earlier.
St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka will host a festival of Advent Lessons and Carols on Friday, December 21, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. This event with readings from the salvation history of mankind - original sin, the promise of the coming savior, and his birth - will feature both the St. Joseph Adult Choir and the St. Joseph Gregorian Chant Schola, and will provide ample opportunity for congregational singing.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the parish to come together to give voice to our longing for the coming of Christ as we hear about our history - salvation history, the history of the people of God - and enter into it and make it our own through our singing and responses. Light refreshments will follow.
